Yesterday afternoon, one of our football stadium light poles broke at the base and fell into the parking lot. Thankfully no one was in the vicinity and no one was injured. Until all of the light poles are replaced, the stadium, track, field house, and weight room are off limits to everyone, including staff unless specific permission has granted by the superintendent to be on site. Information revolving around graduation and summer pride will be forthcoming.
Wynnewood Middle School is looking for a dynamic individual to be a classroom/library aide for the 2020-2021 school year. Duties will include, but are not limited to, covering classes, assisting in the classroom, checking books in and out, and reshelving books. Wynnewood Public Schools is accepting applications for a full time maintenance worker. Applicants must also be willing to obtain the proper licensure to drive a school bus. Basic electrical and plumbing experience is desired but not necessary. Common sense, honesty, and a good work ethic, however, is required. Applications can be picked up at the superintendent’s office, which is located at the east end of the high school (702 E Kerr Blvd). We value your safety and ask that you follow our state mandated social distancing guidelines. 1. Do not come if you or someone in your house have symptoms of an illness. 2. Send only 1 person in to pick up a packet. 3. Do not come if your health is at risk or you do not feel safe. 4. Keep at least 6ft between you and other people. 5. Step into the front entrance, grab your packet and go. Doors will be propped open so that no one is touching anything but their own packet. 6. Please do not gather to talk in front of the school. 7. If you have questions, walk out to your car and call the middle school office. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have from the phone. 8. From David Jackson, Executive Director of the OSSAA: In conjunction with this decision the OSSAA Board voted unanimously, at the March 26, 2020 Teleconference Board Meeting, to cancel the State Basketball Tournament for Classes 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A; additionally, all spring activities have been cancelled for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. For the purpose of all OSSAA member school activities, all school personnel, including certified, adjunct or volunteer coaches, as well as teachers, directors, or instructors are prohibited from engaging in any type of OSSAA member school activity involving secondary students; no practice, instruction, training, weight lifting, tryouts, competition or travel is permitted. SUMMER TIME ACTIVITIES: Until further notice, no OSSAA member school activities will be permitted. The timeline for the beginning of summer activities will be provided to member schools at a time when CDC recommendations as well as State and Local government recommendations allow for safe participation.

Beginning Monday, March 23rd through Friday, April 3rd during the closure, Wynnewood Public Schools will be providing a sack lunch and a sack breakfast for all Wynnewood children ages 1 – 18 FREE of charge during the closure. Bus driver's will be delivering meals along bus routes. Please call the Superintendent’s office if you do not wish to have meals delivered to your home. Beginning Wednesday, March 18 through Sunday, March 22, all of Wynnewood Public Schools’ facilities will be closed and all indoor activities will be canceled in order to give our custodial staff time to deep clean and sanitize our facilities and vehicles. We appreciate your understanding.
